Blue Oaks Students is a ministry for students grades 6 – 12. The years of middle and high school are crucially important to the spiritual development of teenagers. Blue Oaks Church is committed to helping teenagers experience authentic relationship and connection with Jesus, their peers, and caring adult leaders.
LeadershipAt Blue Oaks we have a leadership team of adults who are committed to loving God and students. They are an energetic and exciting group who will encourage and inspire students to live for Jesus. Every leader is screened with an interview and federal background check for safety and to ensure we have the right people investing in our students. Please be sure to ask any of our amazing leaders or staff if you have questions about anything related to Blue Oaks Students.
Relevant Bible TeachingBlue Oaks Students desires to have a pulse on the youth in the community. We strive to bring biblical teaching to life through breakout discussions and activities that keep students engaged. We want students to understand the importance of having a personal relationship with God and living a life for Him.
BenchmarksDuring a student’s 7 years in the Student Ministry program, we want them to develop certain characteristics. We call these characteristics “Benchmarks”. A benchmark is a point of reference so we can assess whether or not we’re hitting the mark. We understand each student’s journey is unique therefore we welcome and love all students, encouraging them and giving them room to grow.
We strive for the following benchmarks:
- A passion for God. We want students to love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.
- A heart for the unchurched.
- A life of character.
- A life marked by growth.
When and Where?Middle School Students (grades 6-8) meet every Sunday at Foothill High School in Room C-6 at 10:00am for worship, teaching and small group discussion. At Blue Oaks we welcome High School Students in our worship center with adults at 8:45, 10:00 and 11:15. Students contribute a great deal to our church and we want them serving, worshiping and learning alongside adults.
What events will be happening during the year?We value making Blue Oaks Students fun. We want students to come, have fun, enjoy hanging out with leaders and other students, and learn about the God who loves them and has huge plans for their lives.
