Over the last few decades, the role of women in our society has evolved, and rightfully so. But did you know Jesus and other authors in the Bible were way ahead of us in stating the role women should play in our community? It’s true. The Bible absolutely puts women on the same stage as men. Women are treated equally because God has gifted all of us, men and women alike. As a church, we’re going to discuss this and set the record straight about how God has gifted every woman since the beginning. You’re invited to learn the truth about the role of women and how truly beautiful they are to our community.
Matt VanCleave is Blue Oaks’ Teaching Pastor, providing transformational teaching and overseeing all aspects of the weekend services. Matt’s desire is to provide an irresistible church environment where every person can experience life in all its fullness through Jesus Christ. Matt earned his B.A. in Biblical Studies from Judson University and M.A. in Religion from Trinity International University.
Matt and his wife Kathy have two daughters and a son. When Matt is not studying or spending time with his family, he enjoys snowboarding, golf, rowing and gardening. A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, Matt proudly wore his Cubs jersey while teaching on the Sunday following their 2016 World Series Championship win, but he lost a long-standing teaching illustration in the bargain.
We are a non-denominational church that began in 2012 and currently offers 3 Sunday service times: 8:45, 10:00 and 11:15 am. Our goal is to become the kind of church that people who don’t normally attend church, like to attend.
Pastor Matt VanCleave is our teaching pastor. Matt is gifted at applying biblical truths to our lives and challenging us to live them out more authentically. If you are looking to deepen your faith or are just exploring what Christianity is all about, we hope you’ll give Blue Oaks a try.
