Addiction & Counseling

Addiction & Counseling

Substance abuse counselors provide a necessary support system for individuals recovering from behavioral issues. By forming a relationship built on trust with their patients, counselors provide the support, resources, and judgement-free guidance that patients can utilize on their road to addiction recovery.

At Abbeycare Foundation we believe in vibrant health and abundant life. If you are experiencing serious relational or mental health issues, or if you are struggling with an addiction, you need specialized and/or professional help. We maintain a list of local addiction groups and recovery programs as well as professional Christian counselors.

Addiction counselling helps patients overcome dependence on drugs, alcohol, and destructive behaviors like gambling. Counselors intervene when patients are often at their lowest points in their struggles with addiction. A certified drug and alcohol counselor may also work with the families of addicts to assist the healing process. Often, a certified addiction counselor has a personal passion for the work; some have overcome substance abuse themselves, or have witnessed a loved one’s struggle.

The decision to seek treatment for addiction is no easy one, and requires a great deal of trust between patients and their counselors.  While our staff and volunteers can pray with you and check in for support, we believe God has gifted certain people to be able to help you on a deeper level, and we encourage you to seek this help. Contact us to let us know what is troubling you, and we will offer you some local referrals.
