In Exodus 13 we learn about the roundabout way of God, the times when God leads his children into the desert. The desert is a place where your heart aches with hurt or loss. The desert is a time when you long for something and you pray for it with persistence, but God doesn’t answer.
Sometimes the desert experience gets triggered by an event, like a broken relationship, a mistake that you can’t take back, or a disaster. Other times the desert comes for no discernible reason at all. In the desert times, even faith is hard. It’s your spirit that feels like a dry and barren place. Some of us have been there. Some of us are there right now.
In this message we will learn that God has not forgotten us in the desert. We have not been abandoned. God sometimes leads his children into the desert, but he never forgets them.
