People in our world today are in danger of becoming furnace avoiders. Too many people think Christianity has something to do with ease, security success, or comfort. However, looking at the lives of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, we discover spiritual encounters often arise in places of danger, pain, and destruction.
How many heroes of the Christian faith had easy lives? Maybe we need to stop praying for deliverance from the furnace and, instead, ask for God to be present in the fire.
