Triumphal Entry

Triumphal Entry

A look at Luke 19 and the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.

In this passage Jesus says, “You did not recognize the time of God’s coming.” The question I want us to reflect on is, “Do we recognize him over two thousand years later?”

It’s easy to recognize Jesus when things are going great. But do we recognize Jesus when we’re at the bottom, when it’s tough or when we’re not getting what we want?

Jesus is weeping over Jerusalem. He weeps over a people who don’t even recognize him. And I want us to consider what Jesus might be weeping over in our lives.

Maybe he is weeping over a hard heart.
Maybe he is weeping over a part of our lives where we have refused to let him enter in.
Maybe he is weeping over a relationship.
Maybe he is weeping over a pattern of sin.
Maybe he is weeping with us over some pain, loss, or disappointment we’re experiencing.

Jesus weeps!

And he wants nothing more than for us to open the gates and let him in.
